About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Holtec International. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of mechanical systems for our commercial nuclear projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Author and oversee CAD designs and drawings for mechanical systems.
  • Execute mechanical design activities, including CAD, design for manufacturability, engineering analyses, and technical documentation.
  • Review and develop concept designs based on ambiguous requirements, utilizing critical thinking, literature research, and collaboration with team members and suppliers.
  • Support the development of engineering and safety case requirements and documentation for nuclear systems and components.
  • Participate in a project-driven and highly integrated engineering team, contributing to the success of our commercial nuclear projects.
  • Hold a degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Have experience in requirements capture, including functional, non-functional, stakeholder, and regulatory requirements.
  • Have experience in carrying out mechanical engineering substantiation for new designs.
  • Have experience in writing accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports.
  • Be proficient in using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SmartPlant software suites.
  • Have experience in commercial nuclear or naval nuclear design.
Requirements
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in requirements capture and mechanical engineering substantiation.
  • Proficiency in CAD design software, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in commercial nuclear or naval nuclear design.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
