About the Opportunity

Maplecroft is seeking a skilled Technical Program Manager to enhance its dynamic Technology team. This position will oversee, allocate resources, and manage cross-functional efforts related to Maplecroft's technology-driven projects, particularly our current SaaS platform that provides risk analytics data, along with its anticipated successor slated for development in the near future.

The Technical Program Manager plays a crucial role, bridging the gap between the Technology team and the broader organization, ensuring that Maplecroft achieves its technical goals and adheres to the Technology Strategy through effective resource management and close collaboration with senior leadership.

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about a diverse array of technologies and derives satisfaction from delivering high-quality, structured technical solutions.

The successful candidate will join a diverse team of around 24 full-time professionals within the Technology department at Maplecroft, contributing to the delivery of innovative solutions that address our clients' current and future requirements. This role is pivotal, facilitating close interactions with both the Technology team and internal stakeholders.

Proficiency in agile project management is essential, alongside a comprehensive understanding of software and infrastructure development principles, including modern development practices, version control, security, compliance, and cost management. The role also necessitates the ability to gather requirements across various technical domains and unify teams to ensure the successful execution of Maplecroft's projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CTO, Head of Software, and Technical Leads to implement the company's Technology Strategy, ensuring that Maplecroft's technical solutions align with established standards and objectives.
  • Work closely with the Head of Product and the CTO to define, maintain, and manage the development roadmap.
  • Oversee resource distribution and cross-team coordination on multi-disciplinary projects, articulating priorities and justifications effectively.
  • Engage collaboratively with Developers, Project Owners, UX designers, and QA engineers to manage the release process, including content, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Assist agile development teams in requirements gathering, refinement, and delivery of user-centric enhancements, ensuring that ceremonies are effective and concise.
  • Act as a liaison for the broader business and clients with the Technology team to manage risks, expectations, and provide occasional technical support.
  • Manage and coordinate the index data release/update process, engaging with multiple business functions and serving as the primary contact for mediation.
  • Address and prioritize reactive work requests that require immediate attention.
  • Identify and advocate for opportunities to enhance code quality, development processes, and team satisfaction, while upholding coding standards and compliance.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with the ability to listen actively and convey complex ideas clearly.
  • A solid track record in overseeing and coordinating the development of commercial applications that adhere to industry standards for code quality and security, preferably in web-based SaaS solutions.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities to keep projects on schedule and stakeholders informed, adept at managing multiple priorities and competing demands.
  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in tools such as Excel and PowerBI to analyze data and create meaningful visualizations.
  • Proven leadership capabilities to drive projects forward, making decisive choices when necessary and performing well under pressure.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that documentation is current and relevant.
  • A strategic outlook to align technology initiatives with broader business objectives and anticipate future needs.
  • Ability to comprehend and map technical dependencies between projects and architectural components to ensure all requirements are met for scheduled work or software releases.
  • Extensive knowledge of the agile development framework.
  • Strong familiarity with the use of Rest APIs.
