Job Description

Carrington West is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to join our team. As a Site Engineer with our company, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of major highways projects, ensuring works are completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and supervision of engineering activities on site, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and regulations.
  • Conduct surveys, set out works, and monitor the implementation of health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Manage day-to-day site activities, coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and project management teams to ensure effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Produce accurate site records, including method statements, risk assessments, and progress reports, to facilitate project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Liaise with the project management team to ensure effective communication and problem-solving, identifying and mitigating potential issues that may impact project timelines and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress against time and budget, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure quality control by reviewing and checking technical designs and drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with a strong understanding of construction techniques, setting out, and surveying.
  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer, ideally on highways, roads, or major infrastructure projects, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Familiarity with National Highways standards and procedures, with a strong understanding of industry regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • A valid CSCS card and full UK driving licence, with a strong understanding of health and safety protocols and procedures.
