Position Overview:
Our client, EASYWEBRECRUITMENT, is seeking a dedicated Social Support Advisor to enhance social prescribing initiatives within secondary healthcare settings by offering essential social welfare assistance to patients.

Role Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive advisory and casework support to individuals referred to the Social Prescribing service. This role emphasizes a person-centered approach, focusing on the unique needs of each individual while delivering expert guidance on:

  • Welfare benefits
  • Housing issues
  • Debt management
  • Energy assistance

The Social Support Advisor will collaborate closely with the cardiovascular social prescribing team and will facilitate referrals to specialized agencies, including those offering immigration and legal support, as well as financial counseling. Additionally, the advisor will assist individuals in accessing a variety of community services and activities.

Key Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A profound understanding of the social determinants of health and their implications for integrated community services
  • A commitment to addressing systemic inequalities and barriers faced by community members
  • A Level 3 qualification in Advice and Guidance
  • Extensive experience in providing energy, welfare benefits, and debt advice, including casework that meets Advice Quality standards
  • A dedication to advancing social policy initiatives
  • The ability to communicate in a community language (e.g., Bengali) is advantageous
  • Experience in monitoring and reporting on advice services in accordance with contractual standards
  • NEA Level 3 Energy Awareness certification or a willingness to pursue it
