Job Title: Social Worker - Safeguarding and Support

We are seeking a qualified social worker to join our team in the North East region. As a social worker, you will be responsible for undertaking home visits to gather information and establish any safeguarding concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake home visits to gather information and establish any safeguarding concerns
  • Conduct initial child and family needs assessments
  • Coordinate statutory meetings and close s47 enquiries if no further action is required
  • Provide short-term interventions and liaise with other teams when necessary
  • Work within the Courts, taking statutory action when necessary to protect a child
  • Cover duty rota and provide front-line social work services

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Experience in statutory social work functions, including safeguarding and support
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to social work practice
  • Commitment to promoting social change and safeguarding vulnerable individuals
