Play Support Assistant for Children with Disabilities

About the Role
As a Play and Leisure Assistant, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for children and young people with disabilities. You'll work alongside a group leader to facilitate activities that encourage participation, social interaction, and skill development.
- Actively listen to and empower children, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
- Provide dedicated support to children with diverse needs, fostering their growth and well-being.
- Plan and lead engaging play sessions, utilizing a variety of resources and activities.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, moving, and handling, as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Collaborate effectively within a team to deliver exceptional support.
- Administer medication and emergency procedures (after receiving appropriate training).
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of every child.
- Document daily activities and observations in clear and concise reports.
About You
We are seeking individuals who possess a genuine passion for working with children and young people. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience or interest in supporting children and young people, particularly those with disabilities.
