The Role: Piping Systems Work Pack Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Piping Systems Work Pack Engineer to join our team at Hinkley Point C. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the construction of one of the UK's most significant nuclear power stations.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients and leads to ensure design requirements are clearly defined and understood prior to the commencement of design activities.
  • Consult with relevant stakeholders and assign appropriate Design Categories and Temporary Works based on the inherent risks associated with each design. Ensure any residual risks are comprehensively documented in the design brief.
  • Ensure compliance with existing documentation and procedures.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Temporary Works discipline, including void and opening designs.
  • Support the execution team during the pre-construction and erection phases of bespoke design structures.
  • Oversee the implementation of a robust design check process conducted by qualified personnel (for CAT 2 and CAT 3 designs, external to the Temporary Works Designer(s)).
  • Facilitate the dissemination of design information to relevant external parties, such as Principal Contractors, where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of all drawings, calculations, and other pertinent documents related to Temporary Works designs.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience working on large-scale construction projects within a highly regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a role involving Work Packs or similar responsibilities.
