Role Overview:
We are looking for a Versatile Maintenance Technician for our Knottingley facility. This position requires working in a meticulously maintained environment.
Your responsibilities will include executing maintenance tasks from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), adhering to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules, and servicing equipment such as drums, rollers, and conveyors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute maintenance tasks from the CMMS, prioritizing PPM schedules.
2. Service and maintain glass processing machinery, including drums, rollers, and conveyors.
3. Conduct inspections and prepare plants and chutes for routine shutdowns.
4. Repair worn equipment due to the abrasive nature of glass, utilizing welding and other repair techniques.
5. Engage in a balanced approach to maintenance, focusing on a 60/40 split between planned and reactive tasks.
6. Perform heavy lifting of parts and components as necessary.
7. Uphold site cleanliness and hygiene standards.
8. Be available for call-outs to other locations, with travel expenses covered by a fuel card.
Qualifications:
1. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines or equivalent.
2. Candidates with apprenticeship training are encouraged to apply.
3. Experience in industrial, heavy metal, or challenging environments; experience in the waste sector is preferred.
4. Proficiency in welding and equipment repair is highly advantageous.
Working Hours:
Shifts may vary, with potential call-out requirements.
