Aerospace Manufacturing Technician Job Description

Our client, a leading Aerospace and Defence supplier, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to join their team on a 12-month contract at their site in Southampton.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture high-quality components, sub-assemblies, jigs, and fixtures to support build and on-time delivery of product.
  • Train manufacturing operatives in manufacturing/assembly processes being transferred to the production line.
  • Provide supervision, training, and coaching to manufacturing operatives and apprentices to ensure best use of tools and efficient team working.
  • Contribute to process improvement to ensure continuous improvement within the manufacturing function.
  • Operate conventional and CNC machine tools and use inspection tools and techniques to support all aspects of infrared detectors build.
  • Complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Fully conversant with designs and detailed engineering drawings prepared to ISO Standards.
  • Proficient in programming and operating CNC and conventional machine tools.
  • Demonstrate ability to set and check inspection equipment.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Working with a wide variety of machine tools.
  • Computer literate with basic Word, Excel, and data input skills.
  • Proficient in Heidenhain and Mazatrol software.
  • Proficient in SAP.
