About Our Client
Our client is a reputable Private Equity Firm based in the UK, specializing in mid-market investments across various sectors, including healthcare and consumer goods. They are seeking a seasoned Compliance and Governance professional to join their London-based team.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure seamless compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead company secretarial and governance activities, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate due diligence on new investments, new investors, and the investment process, ensuring thorough risk assessment and mitigation.
- Oversee financial crime prevention and compliance, maintaining a robust AML/KYC framework.
- Provide accurate compliance advice to the deals team, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Ensure ESG compliance processes are in place and effectively implemented.
- Draft and review NDAs, term sheets, and contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the finance team in preparing fund notices, investor reports, and management/statutory accounts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators and industry partners.
Requirements
- Proven experience in compliance and governance within the private markets or alternative investment space.
- Familiarity with FCA requirements and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Exposure to both legal and compliance functions would be advantageous.
- Experience working with operations teams in venture capital funds/investment management would be beneficial.
- Highly numerate and detail-oriented, with excellent analytical skills.
