About our client
Our client, a European mid-market Private Equity Firm are looking to hire a Legal & Compliance Manager on an initial 12 month fixed term contract.
The fund invests across a range of sectors, including the healthcare and consumer space.They are experiencing increasing levels of growth, and are looking for a Legal and Compliance professional to become part of the small but impressive London-based team and support through a period of expansion.
As it is a first-time hire legal and compliance hire for the fund, the successful candidate will have plenty of autonomy in the role and really develop processes as they see fit.
What the job involves
As the Legal & Compliance Manager you will be working closely with the CFO on a daily basis, taking the lead on the majority of legal and compliance related tasks along with providing more ad-hoc corporate governance and operational support.
- Responsible for the management of day to day legal queries with the fund
- Draft, review and amend a range of contracts, engagement letters and NDAs
- Review and advise on fund and group structuring documents
- Manage the compliance monitoring program
- Advise on money laundering reports
- Advise on regulatory develops
- Work closely with HR to fulfill any people related compliance
- Review investment structures to ensure they are compliant
- Undertake CDD and AML checks
- Management of compliance system
- On going review of corporate governance structure
- Fulfill role of Company Secretary when required Who we are looking for
- Legal or Compliance experience within the private markets or alternative investment space
- Familiarity with FCA requirements and relevant regulators
- Good understanding of SMCR
- Exposure to both legal and compliance would be advantageous
- Exposure to operations teams within venture capital funds/ investment management would be advantageous
- Highly numerate and excellent attention to detail
