Culinary Operations Manager

Sodexo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook Manager to lead our culinary team at Coxheath Primary School-Maidstone. As the head of the school catering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality food and service standards are maintained.

You will be responsible for managing the kitchen team, developing menus, and controlling costs while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the kitchen team, including training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of the school community.
- Control costs, including labor, food, and stock expenses.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Manage the kitchen environment, including maintenance, repairs, and equipment management.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic food handling skills certification, including NVQ Level 2 and Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
- Competitive hourly rate.
- Term-time only working contract, paid over 52 weeks.
