Culinary Operations Manager

Sodexo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook Manager to lead our culinary team at Coxheath Primary School-Maidstone. As the head of the school catering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality food and service standards are maintained.
The successful candidate will have a passion for food and a proven track record of managing large-scale cooking operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing menus, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, presentation, and service.
- Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of students and staff.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure they are equipped to provide excellent service.
- Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Proven experience in large-scale cooking operations, preferably in a school or similar setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
- Basic food handling skills certification, such as NVQ Level 2 or Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
- Competitive hourly rate.
- Term-time only working contract, paid over 52 weeks.
