Position Title: ILS/IPS Specialist (Maintenance)

Location: Flexible working arrangements available. Please consult with your recruiter regarding the options for this specific position. Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, up to £42,500.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating and interpreting naval design data to generate Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) deliverables.
  • Conducting verification and validation of engineering data provided by subcontractors.
  • Reviewing the work of fellow engineers within the team to ensure quality and accuracy (peer review of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies and Pre-Set to Work (PSTW) reviews).
  • Collaborating with broader support teams to maintain consistency in data and information.
  • Engaging with naval design teams to confirm the integrity of design outputs.
  • Working across multiple disciplines to assist in the creation of high-quality support documentation, including maintenance schedules, technical manuals, and spare parts lists.
  • Generating technical reports to support analysis and maintenance planning.
  • Supporting team engineers in the development and maintenance of processes and guidelines to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ILS/IPS outputs.
  • Performing RCM studies to establish maintenance schedules.
  • Conducting PSTW reviews of RCM studies to integrate engineering changes and validate the appropriateness of derived maintenance.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and familiarity with the ILS/IPS suite of disciplines.
  • Experience with either electrical or mechanical systems.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues in the development of engineering solutions.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting schematic diagrams and technical documentation, with the capability to analyze technical challenges and propose solutions in a digital context.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree, HNC, or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Experience with database utilization and understanding of configuration management.
  • Knowledge of support environments for military equipment.
  • Familiarity with the creation of support documentation such as maintenance schedules, technical publications, FMECA, and RCM.
  • Working knowledge of the principles outlined in DefStan 00-25, 00-45, 00-600, JSP 886, BR1313, and DLF.
