About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bag Designer to join our team at Buying Labs GmbH. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating innovative and commercially successful bag designs that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement bag design concepts that align with our brand's aesthetic and commercial goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Buying, and Technical, to ensure design integrity and commercial viability.
  • Research and stay up-to-date with the latest fashion trends, consumer insights, and market developments to inform design decisions.
  • Work closely with suppliers and factories to develop new products and improve existing ones.
  • Manage and motivate junior team members, providing guidance and feedback to ensure their growth and development.
  • Embed brand purpose and fashion with integrity principles within the team, promoting sustainable materials and practices wherever possible.
  • Support our culture by championing diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in designing bags within an aspirational brand or high street retailer.
  • Proven ability to drive the success of a department or brand through strategic and commercial thinking.
  • Commercial handwriting and strong understanding of the Buying Labs GmbH brand and customer.
  • Experience with Photoshop, Adobe, CAD, and PLM, with an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills, initiative, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build great relationships with colleagues across the business and suppliers alike.
  • Comfortable travelling in the UK and internationally for supplier/product development meetings and inspirational purposes.
