About the Role
The School of Engineering at Leeds City College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Assessor to join our team. As a key member of our assessment team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and successful completion of apprenticeships for our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit apprentices in the workplace, liaising with employers, mentors, and college teaching teams to ensure timely and successful completion of apprenticeships.
- Lead and supervise a team of assessors, including all duties normally associated with the management of staff such as appraisals, mentoring, and performance management.
- Manage a caseload of learners, organize workplace assessment visits, and meetings with employers.
- Produce and monitor individual learning plans for learners and contribute to their updating, including Functional Skills and 20% of the job training.
- Lead, contribute, and participate in the assessment and quality assurance procedures for all programmes/training provision, including Internal Verification to the prescribed standards. Contribute to the review and evaluation process to ensure year-on-year improvements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Engineering experience, preferably in the utilities sector or related industry.
- Previous experience of working with young people and apprentices.
- A minimum of Level 4 qualification in an Engineering discipline.
- An assessor's award V1, TAQA, or equivalent.
- A recognized teaching qualification (desirable).
