Job Title: Programme Engineering Manager

As a Programme Engineering Manager at ENGINEERINGUK, you will play a critical role in leading the Owner Participant Engineering team within the £1 billion TRU East Alliance. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the engineering and project development activities to ensure that schemes are affordable, meet Programme requirements, and are delivered in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage the team structure and processes to deliver and review engineering outputs to support the programme schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Act as Departmental Engineering Manager (DEM) under 02009 and Assessor for Systems Integration/DPE competencies.
  • Act as deputy to Alliance Engineering Manager.
  • Accountable for Assurance team performance, including ensuring Alliance KRA's and milestones are supported, as well as reporting on Engineering Performance.
  • In line with programme requirements, identify and manage the introduction of new systems on the network, where applicable, including systems/safety approvals and monitoring.
  • Develop safety, quality, and environmental approvals processes within the programme, including staff development and competence.
  • Identify and manage the programme engineering budget, along with providing support information determining the overall programme budget.
  • Manage all engineering and project development activities to ensure that schemes are delivered in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for time, cost, and quality.
  • Provide professional functional leadership for engineering within the programme, in accordance with policies set up by the Engineering function.
  • Manage the appropriate validation and verification of engineering activity.
Requirements:
  • Incorporated Engineer with relevant successful experience in delivering major renewal or enhancement multi-disciplinary projects.
  • University degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Relevant experience of railway engineering systems and equipment, and implementation.
  • Construction design management competence.

  • Role: Programme Engineering Manager
  • Salary: £85,395 to £96,070 per annum
  • Car allowance: £6,000 per annum
  • Location: Leeds or York with an expectation to travel between both locations and the Leeds Alliance office
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Office Requirement: Hybrid. Minimum 4 days per week in the office
  • 28 days annual leave + bank holidays
