About the Role

Rutherford is excited to present a remarkable opportunity for a Paralegal to become a vital part of our client's legal team within the hedge fund sector in London. The ideal candidate will engage in a range of legal projects and will possess a solid understanding of the documentation related to fund establishment and structuring. This is an entry-level position, offering the chance to learn under the guidance of a highly skilled legal team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of legal documentation across the firm and implement updates to the document management system.
  • Handle various corporate administrative tasks for the firm's legal entities across different jurisdictions.
  • Review and summarize fundamental contractual terms, including confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure agreements, side letters, and terms of business.
  • Analyze and condense transaction documentation related to specific investments.
  • Coordinate various workstreams associated with quarterly board and committee meetings, including the preparation and distribution of meeting minutes and relevant materials.
  • Take charge of customer due diligence review processes and the onboarding of new clients.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings promptly with the FCA, SEC, and other pertinent regulatory authorities.
  • Assist in periodic compliance assessments of firm policies and procedures, including personal account dealing reviews and electronic communications surveillance, as well as screening of the firm's vendors and service providers.

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a paralegal in a prestigious UK or US law firm or in an in-house role within an investment management firm. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in investment funds.
  • An outstanding academic record from a reputable university.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • A strong sense of accountability and intellectual curiosity.
  • The ability to comprehend complex materials accurately and succinctly.
