Counter Shift Lead

Hi-Rise Bread Company is seeking a skilled Counter Shift Lead to oversee the daily operations of our customer-facing functions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective performance of all operational areas, including quality standards, customer service, product knowledge, and workflow procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Counter Staff and Counter Support Staff to ensure seamless execution of daily tasks, including setup and breakdown of product displays, outdoor dining equipment, cleaning, restocking, and side work.
  • Manage order intake and inventory management, including incoming deliveries and internal products.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Attend leadership meetings to stay informed and contribute to the growth and development of the team.

Customer Interface and Order Management:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring a positive experience from order placement to pickup.
  • Develop fluency with our menus and point-of-sale system to facilitate smooth and efficient transactions.
  • Stay knowledgeable about all product categories to effectively answer customer questions and provide recommendations.
  • Assume primary barista responsibilities during shifts, ensuring high-quality beverages and exceptional customer service.

Farmers' Markets (May-November):

  • Execute all aspects of a farmers' market shift, including market packing and preparation, market setup, customer interface, order processing, and market breakdown.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a front-of-house role at a café or restaurant, preferably with barista experience and supervisory capacity.
  • Ability to commit to a year or more of work, ensuring stability and continuity for the team.
