Job Title: Operations Manager - Waste Collection
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our waste collection teams and ensure the delivery of high-quality services to our customers. The successful candidate will have a strong background in waste management and a proven track record of managing teams and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the refuse and recycling collections teams, ensuring that all services are delivered in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
- Ensure that all services delivered by the contract operate in line with company policies, procedures, compliance, and legislation requirements and customer satisfaction levels.
- Manage the fleet and drivers to ensure legal compliance and reduce damage and defects.
- Responsible for ensuring that your business unit/depot are legally and environmentally compliant at all times and that all planning and permitting conditions (where applicable) are strictly adhered to.
- Responsible for compiling weekly and monthly statistical reports for the Contract Manager and Corporate Services, including attendance and missed collections.
- Support the Contract Manager in delivering budgeted profit, operational excellence, and safety measures for your individual business unit/depot.
- Working in partnership with the client to resolve all contractual issues, to ensure that the Veolia brand is maximised and protected in the public domain.
- Using the Echo system to report on performance, managing echo usage; ensuring adequate and efficient management of data obtained from the system.
- Support the Contract Manager in delivering a safety culture that ensures that accident reporting is closed within one month and accidents are reduced.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in waste or transport environment - essential.
- CPC in Road Haulage & a valid UK driving licence - essential.
- Good working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
- Experience within municipal waste services.
- Strong business acumen and financial management skills.
- IOSH and COTC (where required).
