At IMI Thompson Valves, we are on the lookout for a dedicated Manufacturing Operations Planner to join our team.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Operations Planner to take charge of the production scheduling process from order initiation to final product delivery.

In this role, you will coordinate with various departments, particularly Sales and Contracts, to ensure accurate order processing with appropriate lead times.

As the Manufacturing Operations Planner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, managing, and nurturing the Planning and Logistics team.
  • Being accountable for the overall Operations Plan and Master Production Schedule to fulfill Sales order requirements.
  • Overseeing the production of finished goods and sales orders.
  • Establishing and implementing planning, inventory, and raw material policies, systems, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensuring timely provision of production job packs to the manufacturing team.
  • Engaging with cross-functional teams and providing leadership in production planning as necessary.
  • Monitoring the progress of items related to specific order lines.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate lead times for each manufacturing process.
  • Ensuring the health and safety of all team members.
  • Conducting performance evaluations and appraisals as required.

Key Competencies for Success:

  • Extensive background in production planning and master scheduling within an engineering manufacturing context.
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to influence and lead a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven experience in a production and planning environment with knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Self-driven, enthusiastic, and focused on achieving targets.
  • Ability to maintain a positive demeanor and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in numerical analysis and IT, with a strong command of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications for compiling and analyzing performance data.
