We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Domestic Assistant to join our team at University Hospital Wishaw. As a key member of our Domestic Services department, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Provide domestic services to patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to NHS Lanarkshire and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards.
- Work alongside and support new staff in the working environment, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
- Undertake on-the-job training and induction to achieve full competency across a range of duties, including cleaning, maintenance, and patient care.
- Participate in risk assessments and contribute to the development of individual tasks and procedures.
- Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training and mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards.
- Complete the NHSS Domestic Services Workbook and maintain accurate records of work completed.
- Develop effective written and verbal communication skills, working with people from diverse backgrounds and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Carry out assigned tasks efficiently and effectively in a busy environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Work with basic information technology, including email and other digital tools.
- A minimum of 27 days annual leave, increasing with length of service.
- A minimum of 8 days of public holidays.
- Membership of the NHS Pension Scheme, with life insurance benefits.
- Paid sick leave, increasing with length of service.
- Occupational health services and employee counseling services.
- Work-life balance policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

This is a part-time post, with a working pattern of any shift between 6am and 10pm, depending on Service Delivery. The salary for this position will be pro-rata.
