About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Domestic Assistant to join our team at University Hospital Wishaw. As a key member of our Domestic Services department, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide domestic services to patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to NHS Lanarkshire and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards.
  • Work alongside and support new staff in the working environment, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Undertake on-the-job training and induction to achieve full competency across a range of duties, including cleaning, maintenance, and patient care.
  • Participate in risk assessments and contribute to the development of individual tasks and procedures.
  • Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training and mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards.
  • Complete the NHSS Domestic Services Workbook and maintain accurate records of work completed.
  • Develop effective written and verbal communication skills, working with people from diverse backgrounds and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Carry out assigned tasks efficiently and effectively in a busy environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Work with basic information technology, including email and other digital tools.

Contract Details

This is a part-time post, with a working pattern of any shift between 6am and 10pm, depending on Service Delivery. The salary for this position will be pro-rata.
