Fire Safety Systems Engineer

Kings Security is seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Service Small Works Remedials Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients by maintaining and repairing fire alarm and life safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive service, maintenance, and repair for various fire alarm, emergency lighting, and life safety systems, including nurse call systems, AOV systems, and interface systems.
  • Consistently strive to exceed maintenance and fault-finding targets.
  • Effectively demonstrate systems to clients, explaining technical details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
  • Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours callouts and telephone support.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of client needs and ensure all assigned tasks are completed to their satisfaction.
  • Prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of yourself and your team by adhering to company policy.
  • Carry out remedial works and extensive repairs on various life safety systems as required.

Requirements:

  • Possess a solid background and in-depth knowledge within fire and security.
  • Demonstrate expertise in GENT & Advanced Fire Alarm systems (desirable).
  • Exhibit excellent first-time resolution and risk management skills.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a proven track record of working within fire engineering.
  • Experience in undertaking service and repair work is essential.
  • Familiarity with conventional and addressable fire systems from various manufacturers.
  • Adhere to good installation practices.
  • Knowledge of integrating detection systems with other disciplines would be a significant advantage.
  • A thorough understanding of BS5839 is mandatory.
  • Hold a full driving license.
  • Possess FIA commissioning accreditations.

Preferred FIA Modules:

  • FD&A Unit 1
  • FD&A Unit 2
  • FD&A Advanced Installer
  • FD&A Advanced Designer
  • FD&A Advanced Commissioner

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience with VESDA & other aspirating manufacturers is desirable.
  • An electrical background would be beneficial.
