Senior Underwriter Job Description

At THC Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for assessing consumer credit applications from customers, making informed decisions whether to lend, and ensuring that all lending policies are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess consumer credit applications and make informed decisions whether to lend.
  • Ensure that all lending policies are followed and that customers satisfy relevant credit reference checks.
  • Identify potential fraudulent applications and liaise with other departments to investigate the situation.
  • Assess customers' ability to repay loans and make credit decisions in line with company criteria, credit policy, and service level agreements.

Requirements:

  • Experience in underwriting, ideally with a background in consumer motor finance lending.
  • Strong understanding of the lending application processes and experience working under pressure to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of underwriters (team leader).
