Indirect Tax Business Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Senior Manager/Associate Director to join our Indirect Tax team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality VAT services to our clients, including VAT compliance, advice, and representation before HMRC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a large and varied client portfolio, ensuring VAT compliance and providing VAT advice as required.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior client management and key stakeholders, identifying business development opportunities and working with the Partner and client to develop these.
  • Take full responsibility for project delivery on your portfolio, reviewing work prepared by junior members of staff and liaising with HMRC as necessary.
  • Ensure assignments are completed within agreed budgets, keeping client/Partner informed of changes in scope or overruns and planning staff assignments to give an appropriate spread of experience.
  • Identify risk and technical matters, as well as selling opportunities, to the Partner, exercising judgement within agreed parameters.
  • Provide overall support to Partners on client matters and assist in the management and leadership of the group, including support for recruitment and management of staff.

Requirements:

  • Significant understanding of and previous experience within UK VAT.
  • In-depth knowledge of recent key updates and areas of focus in Real estate and Construction VAT.
  • Responsibility for VAT compliance for own portfolio and VAT advice required by clients.
  • Ability to manage a large and varied client portfolio and actively seek opportunities for selling new services to existing clients.
  • Experience of dealing direct with HMRC and dealing with client senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Ideal candidate will be CTA and/or ACA qualified or equivalent.
