About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Band 6 Charge Nurse to join our team at Bluebell Unit, Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading and managing a team of staff, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Leadership
    • Provide clinical leadership to a team of staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
    • Develop and implement care plans, ensuring that patients receive evidence-based treatment and support.
    • Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management strategies to ensure patient safety.
  • Team Management
    • Lead and manage a team of staff, providing guidance, support, and supervision to ensure that they are equipped to provide high-quality patient care.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to staff.
  • Service Development
    • Contribute to the development of our services, including the design and implementation of new care pathways and programs.
    • Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to ensure that our services are aligned with local and national priorities.
  • Quality Improvement
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, including audits and service evaluations.
    • Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address these.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality improvement initiatives.
Person Specification
  • Essential
    • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current PIN.
  • Desirable
    • Experience in a similar role or setting.
    • Knowledge of mental health legislation and policies.
