About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at NES Fircroft. As a key member of our engineering staff, you will provide front-line electrical engineering support to our operations site-based team and deliver engineering modifications and technical discipline input to our projects team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Improvements: Specify, scope, and execute improvements to electrical systems to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Asset Electrical Engineering: Act as the asset electrical engineering focal point for site projects, including studies, and provide technical input to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Electrical Single Point of Accountability: Serve as the electrical single point of accountability (SPA) for long-term asset strategy, defining and owning the asset's electrical spares strategy.
  • Plant Reliability and Safety: Lead improvements in plant reliability, root cause analysis, defect elimination, and continuous improvement, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Electrical Engineering Documentation: Act as custodian of key electrical engineering documentation, including Power System Study, RFI Ignition Study, Lightning Risk Assessment, and High Energy Electrical Equipment Risk Assessment.
  • Asset Electrical MOCs: Responsible Engineer for Asset Electrical MOCs (Management of Change) proposals, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Incident Management and Travel: Participate in the incident management team as required and travel to offshore platforms or remote onshore sites to provide technical support.
  • Asset Self-Audit Program: Participate in the Asset self-audit program to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Hold a Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Qualifications: Be a Chartered Engineer or actively working to achieve chartered status.
  • Experience: Hold 10+ years' experience, including experience of Oil & Gas, Refining, or Chemical Industries.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge and experience of electrical equipment used in explosive atmospheres and relevant legislation such as ATEX and DSEAR; comprehensive understanding and applied knowledge of relevant UK Regulatory (Safety Case, COMAH...) and industry standards.
