Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to lead our small team of transactional finance professionals. As a key member of our finance operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and compliant recording of financial transactions, managing financial controllership tasks, and supervising monthly and quarterly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of financial reports, including variance analysis, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
  • Financial Operations: Manage financial controllership tasks, process standardisations, and supervise monthly and quarterly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Leadership: Supervise a small team of transactional finance professionals and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of financial operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies, and support internal and external audits.
  • Statutory Accounts: Lead the preparation of statutory accounts, VAT, and Corporation Tax reporting.
  • FP&A: Play an active role in FP&A activities, providing variance explanations, and analyse inventory and margin reports, and perform cost and profitability analytical studies.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 2-5 years' experience within a similar role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Qualifications: Degree in Accounting or Finance and Accountancy qualification.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in managing accounting teams.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with ERPs (SAGE, SAP etc) and comprehensive understanding of IFRS, local GAAP, and financial compliance.
  • Business Acumen: Strategic hands-on business experience with accounting functions and able to manipulate data.
