Financial Management Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Treasurer to join our Board of Directors. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, ensuring alignment with our service's goals and mission, and monitoring cash flow and financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the Victim Services budget in collaboration with the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
  • Oversee financial planning and ensure alignment with the service's goals and mission.
  • Monitor cash flow and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with policy and procedures.
  • Manage banking relationships, including opening and closing accounts, and overseeing investments if applicable.
Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare regular financial reports for the board of directors, detailing the organization's financial status, income, expenses, and variances from budget.
  • Present financial reports at board meetings and provide explanations for any discrepancies or significant changes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
Internal Controls:
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and prevent fraud or misuse of funds.
  • Review and approve financial policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and adhered to by staff.
  • Conduct periodic audits or reviews to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and make recommendations for improvement.
