Finance Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of our client's organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor cash flow and implement treasury controls to ensure the company's financial stability.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including budgeting and forecasting, to provide recommendations for financial improvements.
  • Review Management Accounts Packs monthly to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies to streamline operations and improve financial efficiency.
  • Liaise with local authorities to secure grants for care homes and negotiate with suppliers to reduce costs.
  • Manage audits and internal control operations to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and tax duties in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the care home sector or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience with management account reviews and financial audits.
  • Knowledge of local authority grant processes for care homes.
  • Ability to develop and implement accounting policies.
  • Expertise in increasing revenue and reducing costs.
  • Experience managing finance and payroll departments.
  • Familiarity with VAT, PAYE, and tax duties.
  • Strong negotiation skills with banks and suppliers.
