About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urologist to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Urologist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our urology services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive urological service to patients, including outpatient clinics, elective inpatient and day-case operations, and emergency care.
  • Develop and maintain a specialist interest in urology, contributing to the strategic direction of the Trust.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team working, including regular MDT discussions with colleagues.
  • Conduct teaching, examination, and accreditation duties, and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
  • Provide cover for Consultant colleagues during periods of leave, in accordance with Trust policy.
  • Participate in clinical audit and continuing medical education.
  • Conduct suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Fully registered with the GMC.
  • CCT (or equivalent) in the specialty of Urology, or be accredited (or equivalent), and be on the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Intercollegiate Specialty Examination.
  • Clinical training/experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT.
  • Expertise in full range of Urological conditions.
  • Ability to lead a multi-professional team and take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
