Job Title: Consultant Urologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Urologist to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive urological service to patients, including elective and emergency care. They will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our urology department.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide a full range of urological services, including outpatient clinics, elective and emergency inpatient care, and day-case operations.
  • Develop and maintain a specialist interest in urology, contributing to the department's research and education activities.
  • Participate in the Consultant of the Week rota, providing care for all urology inpatients and offering telephone advice to the on-call surgical team.
  • Support the hospital's new care pathways and contribute to the delivery of safe inpatient care.
  • Participate in teaching and training activities, including the supervision of junior medical staff and the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Person Specification
  • Fully registered with the GMC and on the GMC Specialist Register in the specialty of urology.
  • CCT (or equivalent) in urology or a related specialty.
  • Expertise in the full range of urological conditions and the ability to lead a multi-professional team.
