As a key member of The Graduate Project, you will play a pivotal role in empowering young people in schools and communities who are at risk of school exclusion, grappling with mental health issues, or involved in Serious Youth Violence.
Key Responsibilities:- Engage with young people through dynamic one-on-one sessions, vibrant after-school programs, and enriching holiday initiatives.
- Establish a favourable and trustworthy relationship with the youth and local community.
- Improve students' involvement in education, demonstrating enhanced attendance, positive behaviour, and increased academic success.
- Create and collaboratively shape programs that address the needs of young people.
- Assist with the selection, training, and growth of volunteers.
- Provide young people with information, advice, and guidance.
- Deliver expert guidance and assistance to junior team members by overseeing their onboarding and offering training sessions.
- 2 years of experience working directly with young people, including engaging in activities such as mentoring, providing support, and facilitating educational programs.
- Level 3 qualification in youth work.
- Youth work degree or equivalent is advantageous.
- Personal experience with the challenges faced by the young people they support.
- Skilled in building and nurturing relationships.
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
