Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Renewable Energy Legal Expert to join our team at Spencer Ogden. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a crucial role in handling commercial contracts for various projects in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and Negotiating Contracts: You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial contracts tailored to the specific needs of our projects, ensuring that they are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: You will ensure that our projects are compliant with key contracts and identify potential risks, providing strategic advice to project owners to mitigate these risks.
  • Legal Guidance and Support: You will provide timely and effective legal guidance and support to project owners, ensuring that they are aware of their obligations and responsibilities under the contracts.
  • Project Management: You will work closely with project managers to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget, providing commercially viable solutions to complex issues that may arise.
  • External Advice and Support: You will utilize external legal advice effectively, working with external counsel to ensure that our projects are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Documentation and Policy Management: You will contribute to the maintenance of essential documentation and policies, ensuring that our projects are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Strong Organizational and Prioritization Skills: You will have strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Business Acumen and Problem-Solving Abilities: You will have business acumen and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Experience and Qualifications: You will have 4+ years of relevant experience in the energy sector, with a strong understanding of UK laws and regulations.
  • Contract Drafting and Negotiation Experience: You will have experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, with a strong understanding of contract law.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: You will be adaptable and flexible, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to Learning and Development: You will be committed to learning and development, with a strong desire to stay up-to-date with changes in the law and regulations.
