My client is a well-known renewable energy developer with a proven track record of developing, building, and acquiring renewable projects across the globe. They commonly work across technologies such as (Solar PV, BESS, and Wind).


This client is looking for a legal professional with 7 + years of experience PQE to join a settled team as the Head of Legal and assist with a broad range of legal advice. This role has been created to support the increased growth of the business and to continue bringing the legal function in-house.


Key Responsibilities:


You’ll be involved in a broad range of legal work and will provide legal support to the Company in business development and management, the role will give you the exposure to manage legal aspects across purchasing, engineering and construction, human resources, general services, financial and tax, environmental, asset management, O&M, project management and development, etc. You'll manage the coordination of legal-administrative proceedings, preparation of all the legal documentation, drafting and negotiation of landowners agreements, checking legal title of property, dispute resolution, and supervision of appeals. You will coordinate with internal and external clients, external law firms and legal experts for the execution of legal documents, and to develop mechanisms for reporting.


Knowledge you require:


· Renewable energy or large infrastructure project development

· Demonstrates initiative and has a constructive attitude.

· Diligent with attention to detail

· Excellent communicator with the ability to build rapport and work alongside a range of commercial and technical personnel.


Experience and qualifications required:


· General experience in other areas of law would be beneficial although not essential

· Commercial awareness

· Dual-qualification (qualified in both Scotland and in England & Wales) would be beneficial as work is cross-border, otherwise a willingness to become dual-qualified
