This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse in the Children's Surgical ward at The Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton.
Key Responsibilities- Provide effective clinical leadership to ensure quality patient care, good communication, and safe management of the service/department.
- Support the ward manager in developing staff within the team and ensuring adherence to safeguarding protocols.
- Act as an expert for the care of children undergoing surgery, providing leadership and acting as a positive role model.
- Undertake training in venepuncture, cannulation, and administration of intravenous therapy, and assess other staff in the department.
- Lead in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring individualised and evidence-based plans.
- Registered Children's Nurse.
- Proven experience of working with children undergoing surgery.
- Experience of shift leading is desirable.
