Overview of the Position

The Principal Finance Business Consultant will deliver a finance business partnering service that is commercially driven across the various units of UCAS, facilitating the achievement of the organization's strategic objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

Finance Partnership - ensure that the implications of decisions are comprehended, performance is monitored, and results are analyzed. Influence strategic decisions, shape business direction, and ensure the fulfillment of operational, commercial, and financial goals. Assist in the business planning cycle, including forecasting, financial modeling, and business case development, alongside efficiency initiatives to guide decision-making. Develop, implement, and sustain a product profitability framework that is forward-looking, automated, and systematized. Collaborate with Product Managers, supported by Finance Business Partners, to enhance their understanding of product margins, profitability, and the implications for our strategic product direction. Engage in partnerships and acquisitions, providing support in financial modeling, integration, and ongoing reporting. Assess the performance of new partnerships/acquisitions and coordinate with other Finance Business Partners regarding business impacts. Act as a strategic change leader for financial initiatives: securing engagement and support from a diverse range of stakeholders.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

Qualified accountant or equivalent professional experience with a strong grasp of financial accounting principles and practices. Proven track record of successfully executing multiple process or systems enhancement projects, preferably in a service-oriented environment utilizing timesheets, while collaborating within a cohesive finance team. Experience with partnerships and acquisitions. Outgoing, persuasive, and confident communicator with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external. Ability to navigate detailed tasks while maintaining a broad perspective. Competent in analyzing and reporting at both strategic and operational levels in a concise and agile manner tailored to the audience. Organized and confident in leading projects methodically. Capable of managing a diverse and time-sensitive workload, embodying a 'right first time' approach while ensuring timely and high-quality delivery. Inquisitive and continuously seeking improvement; adept at challenging the status quo and exploring innovative solutions to enhance processes. Demonstrated experience in financial performance reporting and planning, with a clear understanding of how to present data and make informed recommendations. Highly skilled in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary - up to £60,000
