Consultant in Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Endocrinologist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. This is a new post being created to expand our diabetes and endocrine team, and we are excited to announce a rewarding career opportunity for a passionate individual with expertise in Diabetes and Endocrinology.
About the RoleAs a Consultant in Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine, you will play a crucial role in providing expert clinical care to patients with endocrine conditions, both in an outpatient and inpatient setting. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary diabetes and endocrine teams, and contribute to the development of pathways and provide multidisciplinary care.
Key Responsibilities- Providing expert clinical care to patients with endocrine conditions
- Collaborating with our multidisciplinary diabetes and endocrine teams
- Working with colleagues across specialities to develop pathways and provide multidisciplinary care
- Participating in rotational shared care of an 18-bed diabetes/general medical ward
- Speciality consults and supervision of Speciality Registrars
- 1:8 general medicine and speciality weekend and bank holiday ward cover (8am - 2pm)
- 1:16 8pm - 8am out-of hours telephone advice for general medicine
- Supervising and mentoring junior medical staff, contributing to their development and training
- Contributing to audit, clinical governance and service development
- Support participation in research and clinical trials
- Participating in departmental meetings, case presentations, and teaching sessions for medical students and doctors in training
