Befriender 'Out and About' Volunteer

Role Overview

As a Befriender 'Out and About' Volunteer with SeeAbility, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with learning disabilities and autism who may also have sight loss. Your companionship and support will enable them to participate in activities they enjoy, promoting their independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide reliable and punctual companionship to individuals in Guildford, engaging in activities of their choice.
  • Develop strong relationships built on trust, empathy, and kindness.
  • Assist with sighted guide/orientation when necessary.
  • Adhere to data protection and confidentiality procedures.

Requirements

  • Age 18 or above.
  • Good sense of humour and ability to engage in conversation.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Kindness, empathy, and friendliness.
  • Ability to deal with confidential information.
