Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Finance Assistant to join our team. This role will be fully supporting the Finance Manager under the overall oversight of the Finance Director and Managing Director.

The finance team at TREC processes, reviews, and reports management information to support internal decision-making and facilitate invoicing, payments, and cash flow throughout the year. As a Finance Assistant, you will support the Finance Manager in the following key areas:

  • General Bookkeeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Ensuring the accuracy of bank statements and reconciliations.
  • Creating Accounts Receivable Invoices: Preparing and sending invoices to clients in a timely manner.
  • Assistance with Payroll Processing: Supporting the processing of payroll, including salary payments and benefits administration.
  • Tax-Related Work: Assisting with VAT returns, P11D, and other tax-related tasks.
  • Fielding Finance-Related Questions: Providing support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on finance-related matters.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Previous Accounting Experience with Xero: Proficiency in using Xero accounting software.Ability to Take Ownership and Responsibility: Proactively managing work to completion and taking ownership of tasks.Able to Effectively Cope with Demand: Managing multiple deliverables and executing tasks within a short time period.Strong Excel Skills: Ability to work with large volumes of data and perform complex calculations.Excellent Attention to Detail: Maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the role.

Preferred Qualifications

We're looking for candidates with:

Part-Qualified ACCA, CIMA, or AAT: Working towards or holding a part-qualified accounting certification.Good Understanding of a Finance Function: A solid understanding of the finance function, from journals to stakeholder management.

Contract and Working Arrangements

This is a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extending to a permanent position. We're open to considering part-time applications.
