About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority's ambitious plans for a modern, integrated, and publicly controlled public transport system. As Commercial Finance Manager, you will play a key role in delivering Bus Franchising, a critical component of this vision.

Bus franchising will provide the city region with greater control over fares, routes, and timetables, enabling services to be better integrated with the wider transport system. As a senior leader in the Franchising Programme, you will lead a team of experts on commercial strategy, contracts, and procurement, as well as financing the key areas that underpin a safe, affordable, and accessible franchised network.

About the Person

Reporting to the Head of Franchising, you will be a confident, collaborative, and visible leader with a strong track record in commercial and financial leadership. You will possess technical knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: procurement and contract management, finance, and/or commercial leadership in complex change programmes.

Key skills and qualities include positivity, creative problem-solving, and the ability to translate ideas into practice. Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and lead the commercial strategy for the franchising programme.
  2. Manage contracts and procurement processes to ensure successful implementation.
  3. Oversee financial operations related to the franchised network, ensuring financial sustainability and efficiency.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the franchising strategy.
