Job Summary

MacGregor Black is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Technician to join our team in a leading FMCG business. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, and execute line change-overs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Train and develop other staff members to a high standard, promoting a culture of excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the engineering department's vision and strategic plan, driving innovation and improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and maintain production Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to meet site Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for process enhancements within the engineering environment, driving continuous improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory regulations, and factory-wide systems for health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to support the planning and execution of capital engineering projects, driving business growth and success.
  • Demonstrate proactive behavior, building credibility and effective relationships with peers and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in FMCG manufacturing, with a strong background in electrical engineering and maintenance.
  • Educated to HNC level or equivalent, with a preference for apprenticeship-trained individuals.
  • Desirable skills include experience with Predictive, Preventive, and Corrective Maintenance (PPM, TPM, CI), as well as familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Working Arrangements

This is a permanent role, working a 3-shift pattern. The salary for this position is circa £43,000.
