About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Young People Support Specialist to join our team at Depaul UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering our innovative pan-London accommodation service for young people aged 18-24 who have slept rough or are at risk of doing so.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients in the service, including using safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable.
  • Carry a caseload of clients for whom you will be the named key worker, and take joint responsibility with your team members for the well-being and day-to-day support of all clients in the service.
  • Lead on risk and needs assessment and support planning for your key clients, and contribute to ongoing needs and risk assessment of other clients in the service.
  • Deliver one-to-one and group support opportunities within their accommodation and in the local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in managing a service in a support setting with a focus on continuous improvement in working with young people with complex mental health needs. You will need to have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience working with the client group.
  • An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance use.
  • A knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments and Support Planning.
  • Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures.
