Lead Medical Writer

We are Health Unlimited and we are looking for a Principal Medical Writer to enhance our expanding Medical Education team. This pivotal position is essential to our agency's success.

This role will be integrated within Rock Unlimited, the specialists in Medical Education and Scientific Engagement at Health Unlimited, where a team of skilled scientists is dedicated to producing high-quality content, training, and educational resources.

As a Principal Medical Writer, you will demonstrate exceptional writing abilities and a comprehensive understanding of clinical medicine, backed by substantial experience. You will manage a variety of projects, taking pride in delivering outstanding work while being highly organized and proactive to ensure all outputs align with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Editorial Expertise

  • Proven experience in producing diverse written materials
  • Ability to craft content that resonates with various audiences
  • Provide expert editorial advice, including strategic insights on written materials to the team and senior management
  • Develop customized solutions to fulfill client requirements and enhance project clarity
  • Confidently review and approve written work from other editorial team members

Strategic and Scientific Guidance

  • Act as a trusted scientific advisor and client consultant for assigned accounts, earning their respect and trust
  • Possess a deep understanding of clients' scientific strategies
  • Offer scientific expertise and guidance to the broader team as the content lead
  • Recognized as an internal authority across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Proactively develop existing accounts by identifying growth opportunities and converting them into new or ongoing client work

Leadership and Team Development

  • Mentor and manage team members, fostering their writing skills and editorial experience through coaching and hands-on learning
  • Ensure the highest standards of scientific integrity and clinical accuracy across all projects and teams
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and quality of the scientific content team

Business Development

  • Demonstrated experience in leading scientific narratives for new business proposals
  • Generate innovative ideas and proposals for organic growth with current clients

Required Skills

  • Effectively manage timelines and deliverables with precision and confidence
  • Strong presentation skills with a history of crafting successful new business proposals
  • High standards in grammar and a solid understanding of editorial excellence
  • Outstanding writing skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Comprehension of end-user needs (Patients, KOLs, HCPs, clients)
