We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior IS Category Manager to play a crucial role at Lloyd's Register. In this significant position, you will collaborate closely with budget holders and stakeholders throughout the IT department, taking charge of:

- Crafting and executing tailored procurement strategies for IT, Digital, Telecommunications, and associated technology categories, ensuring alignment with our digital transformation objectives. Your focus will be on delivering value for money (VFM), minimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), enhancing margins, and managing supplier relationships effectively.

- Contributing to the overarching procurement and sustainability initiatives.

Role Responsibilities

The Senior IT Procurement Category Manager will oversee supplier relationships with technology partners and ensure alignment with internal IT teams. Daily responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, managing, and implementing new IT procurement category plans and project initiatives, assessing processes, and identifying risks to ensure timely contract delivery within budget, while maximizing benefits and savings.
  • Conducting in-depth analysis of the IT expenditure category to identify opportunities for savings and sustainable margin enhancement.
  • Managing the suppliers' commercial bidding process, negotiating terms, evaluating risks, and implementing strategies to mitigate exposure.
  • Leading sourcing projects in collaboration with IT and business leaders, including requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key decision-makers to influence behaviors and ensure timely involvement of Procurement in sourcing activities.
  • Adhering to governance models to maintain procurement methodologies and standards, ensuring risks are effectively managed.

Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of experience in an IT Procurement role with a proven ability to develop and implement category strategies.
  • Proficiency in structuring, executing, and evaluating RFPs against diverse evaluation criteria, with experience in complex RFPs being advantageous.
  • A successful track record of achieving significant cost savings and broader commercial benefits throughout the procurement process.
  • Knowledge of products including Hardware, Software, Storage, Telecommunications, Professional Services, and Maintenance.
  • Professional Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or working towards a relevant business degree or equivalent.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and exceeding expectations.
