Role Responsibilities
As an Employment Advisor, you play a crucial role in the Department, guiding individuals and their families towards financial independence through employment and helping them access the necessary support as they progress.

Key Responsibilities
The Employment Advisor position encompasses a wide range of duties. You will engage with customers, employers, and colleagues through various communication methods, including face-to-face, digital, and telephone interactions. Key activities include:
- Providing assistance to customers applying for Universal Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Jobseeker's Allowance, and Income Support.
- Delivering quality guidance to customers regarding job search strategies, supporting them in navigating a predominantly digital job market, and connecting them with suitable job openings.
- Ensuring compliance with the Equality Act 2010, providing customers with the additional support and information they need to access our services.
- Building strong relationships with customers that foster encouragement, motivation, and trust.
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of local job opportunities and the support available from our service partners.
- Making timely decisions based on customer needs and referring them to appropriate resources and assistance.
- Taking responsibility for the performance and management of your caseload.
Candidate Profile

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with a diverse range of customers.
- The ability to comprehend complex information and provide clear explanations to customers.
- Capability to coach customers effectively to enhance their employment prospects.
- Proficiency in navigating various computer systems to perform tasks and assist customers in utilizing digital job search tools.
- Experience in handling telephone inquiries and managing challenging situations calmly and professionally.
