Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at St John's School. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and presentation of healthy and nutritious meals for our students and staff.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a kitchen team, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. You will also be responsible for managing budgets and resources, and for developing and implementing new menu ideas and recipes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of chefs and porters to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes to meet the needs of our students and staff
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient use of kitchen facilities and equipment
  • Ensure high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained at all times
  • Collaborate with other members of the culinary team to ensure seamless service delivery

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a school or educational setting
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings as required
  • IT literacy and strong organizational skills
