Job Summary: St John's School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team.

About the Role: As a key member of our school community, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving healthy and nutritious meals to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of our students and staff
  • Lead and manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and service
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality control
  • Manage kitchen budgets and resources to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency
  • Collaborate with our catering team to provide fine dining experiences for internal functions and external bookings

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior culinary role, preferably in a school or educational setting
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and external partners
  • High standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality control
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings as required
