About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students with SEMH needs
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g. Psychology, Education, Counselling)
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
