About the Role

Sunbelt Rentals Careers is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team in East Anglia and North London. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a commercial strategy to drive revenue growth and achieve high ROI goals.

Working closely with our sales and account management teams, you will identify and market differentiated value propositions to large major customers in the Traffic sector. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and implementing a performance management process to improve capability, call activity, portfolio, and area growth
  • Developing and managing a regional project and portfolio pipeline to drive new business growth through relevant sales channels and business sectors
  • Developing and coordinating training programs to increase product knowledge and working at height safety awareness across relevant sales channels and hire desks
  • Working alongside our marketing team to align campaigns and collateral with new products, services, and underutilized products
  • Identifying new markets and underpenetrated sectors and creating strategies to gain traction and market share
  • Developing systems and controls for pricing to improve governance, discounting, and overall ROI
  • Promoting cross-selling opportunities through all divisions of Sunbelt Rentals

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong background in sales and account management, with significant experience in the Traffic Management Industry. You will have excellent communication and presentation skills, both internally and externally, and be able to demonstrate the ability to lead on tender bids to ensure profitability and good ROI.

The essential requirements for this role include:

  • Considerable sales experience working closely with large customers
  • Sales management experience, able to manage and develop a team of sales colleagues
  • Commercial acumen to ensure competitive contracts are proposed and bid for
  • Tender and bid writing, able to contribute to sizable bid opportunities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both internally and externally
  • Good understanding of hire contracts and terms
  • Teamwork, able to work across teams and across the company to build customer proposals and form commercial contracts
